case grader #2
I just finished my second case grader of the semester and this one was really cool. it reviewed a little of the auto sum function, and using the fill handel, but the focus of the excersize was the formatting of the work sheet. I took a bland and uncomprehesable data sheet, and made it look exciting and more importantly i learned formatting that makes the information on the page much more easily understood. i really liked the conditional formating which added color and data bars/graphs to help make the information as easily understood as possible.

first case grader!!!
so i just finished doing my first case in casegrader for this semester. it was a quick and pretty painless case, it was sort of a warm up for what is yet to come. i realize that the skills i already have from MIS and from what we have done in the first couple of classes this year are very helpful to have a basic understanding of Excel, but i know i am only at the tip of the iceberg here with all that excel has to offer. its going to be exciting stuff.

absolute refrences
i just finished watching the second tutorial for excel 07 and it has reviewed for me a lot of what we have learned in class. the tutorial refreshed my memory of of the "auto-sum" function which is probably the most commonly used function in excel. but what i learned the most from the tutorial was the use of absolute references. how to keep a specific cell constant even when using the fill handle. it is an important feature to understand in order to master excel. i feel like i have only scratched the surface to understanding the use of absolute references and i can't wait to learn a lot more about how to use them.
